Has anyone ever produced an X-Men timeline drawing on the Claremont run solely, including the events of X-Men Forever? If not, would anyone be interested in creating such a timeline?
EDIT: This thread was formerly headed "A Timeline of the Claremont Run". For the sake of convenience, I have decided to give each title of the run its own timeline thread.

Thanks! It's something I'll look into creating myself then, though I might need some assistance. For example, I'm not too sure on what the format should be--it isn't really possible to create a column for dates alongside a column for events, unless I take the jokey birthdate on Jean Grey's headstone in Uncanny #138 as canon and somehow try to work things out from there.

Yeah, years are not valid anymore, but days & months are fine, (for instance: Jean died on September 1. Kate Pryde went back in time to October 31.) But I don't think there were many other specific dates. A column for issue numbers next to a column of events is probably the way to go. It could be interesting to include a column with trivia notes, like when an issue states someone's age, (Rogue mentioned she was 18 in UXM #182, Colossus was "nearly 20" in #183, etc.) and names (UXM #254 stated that "Raven Darkhölme" isn't Mystique's real name; and originally "Jason Wyngarde" was another one of Mastermind's fake names (UXM #125) but later Chris changed his mind about that (UXM #138) etc.) That sort of stuff. Though unless someone's a really fast reader, a list like that might take a long time to compile, with Claremont's original run spanning over 17 years, plus various mini-series and the back-up stories in "Classic X-Men" and tie-ins in "New Mutants", "Excalibur" and "Wolverine"..

Since I'm currently reading the New Mutants Classic trades, I'll begin there.
Marvel Team-Up Vol 1 #100
...The Reason is Karma!
[Entry pending.]
NOTES: This story is contemporary with Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #140.
The New Mutants (Marvel Graphic Novel #4)
Renewal
At some point before these events, Donald Pierce establishes a stronghold in Kentucky and kidnaps Tessa. Elsewhere, Sebastian Shaw forms an alliance with Henry Peter Gyrich. They found Project Wideawake.
An Morag, Scotland: Moira MacTaggert saves Rahne Sinclair from Reverend Craig and his followers. Guessing that Rahne is a mutant, Moira resolves to take the girl to Charles Xavier.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Roberto da Costa's mutant powers manifest during a soccer game watched by Emmanuel da Costa and Juliana Sandoval. Players and spectators alike flee the stadium.
Cameron County, Kentucky: Sam Guthrie's mutant powers are triggered during a cave-in at the Appalachian coal mines, enabling him to rescue Mr Lewis, a senior miner.
Medicine Bow Mountains, Colorado: Black Eagle commands his grand-daughter, the mutant Danielle Moonstar, to seek tutelage from her father's friend Charles Xavier, who alone can help her master her powers. Danielle finds Black Eagle murdered soon after, and swears vengeance against his killers. At some point before the murder, Black Eagle dispatches a letter concerning Danielle to the Xavier Institute.
During these events, Donald Pierce monitors Roberto, Sam, and Dani from his Kentucky headquartes, where he is holding Tessa captive. Pierce resolves to murder Roberto and Dani as part of his greater plan to eliminate mutants and seize control of the Hellfire Club. He intends to use Sam as a pawn, then murder him also.
A week passes, during which Rahne is made Moira's ward. It is presumably at this time that Sam is inducted into Pierce's service.
X-Mansion: Moira and Rahne attend Charles Xavier's study of Xi'an Coy Manh's abilities. Rahne and Xi'an become students of Charles, with Xi'an agreeing to become an employee of the institute. Shortly thereafter, Charles receives Black Eagle's letter and determines to travel to Colorado in the company of Rahne and Xi'an. Unknown to Charles, his wish to recruit new students is prompted by the Brood Queen growing within him.
Medicine Bow Mountains, Colorado: Charles, Rahne, and Xi'an rescue Danielle from Donald Pierce's bionic agents. Charles telepathically probes one of the agents and learns of the existance of Roberto and Sam, and of Pierce's intentions toward them. Danielle agrees to work with Charles until she can exact revenge on Pierce.
In Rio de Janeiro, Pierce's agents fail to kidnap Roberto, but do capture Juliana. The kidnappers contact Roberto and arrange that he should meet them the following dusk. The next day, Moira, unware of the kidnapping, travels to Rio with Danielle and Xi'an. They secure rooms at the Regency Hotel and attempt to telephone Emmanuel da Costa concerning Roberto.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Danielle and Xi'an evade the city police, who suspect them of kidnapping Roberto and Juliana, but Moira is taken into custody. At dusk, the girls observe Roberto leaving his father's townhouse. They trail Roberto to the slum building where Juliana is imprisoned and attempt to aid him when Pierce's agents renege on their promise. Juliana dies in the ensuing conflict, and Roberto swears an oath of vengeance similar to Danielle's.
Moira is released from custody. She contacts Charles and departs for Kentucky with Danielle, Roberto, and Xi'ian. It is unclear whether Charles and Rahne are already in Kentucky at the time of the call.
Cameron County, Kentucky: Sam joins Pierce's agents in capturing Charles. Rahne follows Charles's scent to Pierce's headquarters. Danielle, Roberto, and Xi'an arrive and join her in rescuing Charles and Tessa and defeating Pierce. Rahne is injured druing the fight, Pierce is turned over to the Hellfire Club, and the New Mutants spurn Sam. Moira collects the team, who depart for the Xavier Institute.
Two weeks pass. Rahne recovers, and Charles offers to tutor Sam in the use of his powers, unbeknownst to his other students.
X-Mansion: Sam joins the team. Classes commence.
NOTES: Roberto and Juliana are 14, and Sam is 16. Roberto was bullied because of his short stature when he was a child. Xi'an learned first aid in Vietnam from an unspecified source, and the use of firearms from her father.
A portable Cerebro resembling a wrist-watch appears in this issue.
This story is contemporary with Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #164.

The New Mutants Vol 1 #1
Initiation
This and the issue following are set over the course of a single day.
The team become formally known as the New Mutants at some point after their return from Pierce's headquarters in Kentucky. Stevie Hunter becomes one of their teachers. Unbeknownst to all, Charles Xavier is succumbing to the influence of the Brood Queen symbiote.
Elsewhere, Moira MacTaggert and Illyana Rasputin depart Muir Island for London at the behest of Gabrielle Heller.
X-Mansion: Danielle inadvertently uses her power on Xi'an, exposing the abuses the latter endured in her escape to the United States. A quarrel ensues, and Danielle seeks sanctuary in the former residences of the X-Men.
London, England: Moira and Illyana meet with Gabrielle concerning the future of Xavier's son David Heller.
X-Mansion: Charles commences the team's first attempt against the Danger Room. Fearing a repeat of her encounter with Xi'an that morning, and subconsciously alert to the presence of the Brood Queen, Danielle flees the mansion. While the team prepare for an outing to Salem Centre Mall, Rahne searches for Danielle. She finds her friend at Breakstone Lake, where the Cheyenne relates the story of the Demon Bear. Danielle declines to accompany the team to the mall, and the New Mutants depart, tailed by agents of Henry Peter Gyrich. Danielle returns to the mansion to try herself against the Danger Room unsupervised. Charles, controlled by the Brood Queen and concealed in the control booth, disengages the room's safety locks.
NOTES: Xi'an's backstory, first told in Marvel Team-Up Vol 1 #100, is repeated here in brief. Danielle's father belonged to the Eagle Clan, and her mother to the Horse Clan. Xi'an refers to a previous outing of the New Mutants with Stevie, during which an incident with Rahne took place.
This story is contemporary with Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #165.

Wow, this is more detailed than I expected! And good job with the notes. New Mutants was such a great book when Chris was still writing it. I liked how it and UXM complemented each other.

X-Mansion: The X-Men return from their adventure against the Brood. After a misunderstanding with the New Mutants, they confront the Brood Queen, now in full possession of Charles' body. Maybe Juliana was rounding off when she said they're only 14? Great issue with the Brood Queen and the Dani.

Maybe Juliana was rounding off when she said they're only 14? Yeah, I mean to correct that later. Right now I'm just making notes on anything that catches my eye.
