X-Men Forever 16
Bubye all. i only read the issue one time yesterday and have no intention to reread my review to correct the typos. I simply hope to gave you an overview of the issue, that i liked a lot and hope you'll enjoy too.
Here comes and issue focused on Rogue, Nightcrawler and Mystique. It takes place in New Orleans, not in a rich or touristic quarter, but in one of the neibourghood where live ordinary people. It is a place that Rogue knows very well, and tough they are supposed to be here because Amanda called Kurt we will soon learn that they actualy were brought here by Mystique. Kurt of course was a bit surprised that Amanda would choose to live in this sort of quarter, after all she has money and also other tastes, but you never know; also Mystique was supposed to be dead, and all checking of Amanda's call by both the S.H.I.E.L.D. and the X-Men said it was actually Amanda who called. And they were wrong. Raven was in hiding since her supposed death at the end of Val Cooper in the prologue of the Muir Island saga. She got wind of both the mutant burnout and the existance of the consortium, finally she decided that those of the X-Men dear to her hearth needed her help. Actually, the one needing her help was Rogue, Kurt had inherited... but we are going too fast. Kurt was a bit surprised in this issue to learn that Raven was his mother, that probably shocked him more than learning he inherited her immunity to the mutant burnout. Kurt, and our two other heroes, will have another big surprise in the cliffhanger at the end of the book, but we don't need to talk of this. That'll be a surprise for you and a few words economised for me: I'm sloppy. So we were telling that Kurt and Rogue just learned that he was her brother, blood child of Raven and she is her adopted daugther. Also it seems that Destiny was very aware ofd the mutant burnout and studied the question for a long part of her life. Obviously Chuck wasn't the only one to have secret (there's a scene with him, Hank and Moira at the Mansion by the way, a 2 or 3 pages subplot, that allows the reader to stay in touch with what goes on there). In New Orleans, the chat goes on & Rogue finaly punch Raven who is seemingly amused and happy to have fun with her kids. A punch by Rogue is of course spectacular, and the action is deplaced in the street. There stuff happens the street is becomes a bit of a mess there's an explosion, Rogue seems hurt and Kurt decide to touch her to temporary gave her his powers. The Rogue semms Kurt and Kurt seems to be our Cliffhanger. So... i forgot things?... Amanda? She's somewhere on a plane.. between the USA and Tokyo, if i remember well. No: We do not see her. Mystique? She looks fine, isn't a psychopath but the smart an a bit snarky woman you may remember from her Claremont days. A rogue in the good sense of the word.
